Common Duiker

Common Duiker (Sylvicapra grimmia)

Uniform grey-brown to reddish-yellow upper parts and paler (sometimes white) under parts. There is a black blaze of variable length on the face. The tail is short and is black above and white below. Front surfaces of slender forelegs are dark brown or black. The ears are long and somewhat narrow. On top of the head there is usually a crest of long hair.

Shoulder height: 50 cm
Mass: 18 kg (ram); 21 kg (ewe)
Horns; average length: 11 cm (males only) they are well-ringed, sharp pointed horns.
