Diethelm and Katja Metzger have been running Makadi Safaris since 1996. Diethelm grew up on the farm Otjisauona in the central parts of Namibia and has been hunting all his life. He studied Agricultural Economics at the University of Pretoria and finished with a Maters Degree from Texas A & M University, USA. Katja studied Nature Conservation at the Technikon of Pretoria and it is here that they met. She manages the household and will also serve a wide variety of delicious venison dishes. Katja and Diethelm have three children , of whom the youngest, Nikolai, just recently joined the family farming business.

Nicola and Nikolai Metzger have joined the family business in May 2014. Since then they have adapted very well and are busy taking over many responsibilities which were formerly carried by Diethelm & Katja alone.

Nikolai was educated at the Grootfontein Agricultural College near Middelburg in South Africa (2011). He did his Internship in Australia where he met his wife Nicola Jayne. They married in April 2014 and moved to Namibia. Nicola was educated in Naracoorte, Australia. In January 2017 Sofie Jayne was born in Windhoek.
